Anthony Fleming

Anthony Fleming is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Civic Engagement and Public Service at the University College, University of West Georgia. In his role as Chair, he oversees the disciplines of Political Science and Criminology. He is also a core faculty member in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program.

He earned his PhD from West Virginia University in 2010. His primary research focuses on firearms policy in the United States and Canada, exploring topics such as the impact of mass murders on gun control legislation and ethical debates in public policy. He has published two books on the subject and contributed articles to journals like Social Science Quarterly, World Affairs, and Midsouth Political Science Review.

Fleming teaches courses including Introduction to American Government, Gun Policy, Disaster Management, and Policy Analysis and Evaluation. His academic responsibilities span both undergraduate and graduate levels, with courses like Principles of Public Administration and Non-Profit Management.
