Annette Farrington

Annette Farrington is an Adjunct Professor at Nazareth University's School of Music, teaching applied flute and flute methods. She is a member of the Wilmot Wind Quintet, principal flute in the Penfield Symphony Orchestra, Cordancia Chamber Orchestra, and Greater Rochester Women’s Philharmonic, and actively collaborates in solo/chamber recitals, pit orchestras, and choral groups.

• Education: Master of Music in Flute Performance (Florida State University), Bachelor of Music Education (Arkansas State University, cum laude).

Her research and professional focus centers on flute pedagogy, chamber music, and orchestral performance. She has coordinated and taught at the RFA/Hochstein Flute Camp, presented workshops on NYSSMA solos, and contributed to music education initiatives.

Annette maintains a private flute studio, serves as a NYSSMA adjudicator, and has participated in masterclasses with renowned flutists like Jean-Pierre Rampal. She previously performed soundtracks for silent films on TCM and contributed to National Flute Association conventions.

Professional affiliations include leadership roles in the Rochester Flute Association, such as President, Newsletter Editor, and Corporate Membership Director. She also performs regularly at Asbury First United Methodist Church and collaborates in various Rochester-area musical projects.
