Dr. Anne Thwaite is a Lecturer in Language Education at the School of Education, Edith Cowan University (ECU). With a PhD from the University of Sydney and prior teaching experience across Australia, Singapore, China, Seychelles, and Vietnam, she specializes in educational linguistics, discourse analysis, and knowledge about language (KAL). Her research focuses on dialogic pedagogy, classroom discourse, and language development in diverse educational contexts. She has published extensively on topics such as Halliday’s language theories, teacher education, and multilingual academic writing. Thwaite has supervised six Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students to completion and collaborates internationally on projects like an edited book on dialogic pedagogy with colleagues at the University of Wollongong and University of Sydney.
