Anne Adkison

Anne Adkison is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Library Instruction at the College of Staten Island (CUNY). She chairs the Library's curriculum committee and provides reference and instruction in various disciplines. As a library liaison, she supports the Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies Program and the Department of Performing & Creative Arts. She holds a BA from Smith College, an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College, and an MLIS from Queens College, CUNY.

Her research focuses on identity politics, queer publishing, zine culture, and how libraries empower marginalized communities. Notable works include studies on zine scholarship, LGBTQ resource utilization, and flipped classroom methodologies in library instruction. Her publications appear under her former name, Anne Hays.

Adkison advocates for open access and inclusive library practices, bridging academic archives with identity-specific cultural heritage. She coordinates library initiatives to enhance accessibility and scholarly engagement.
