Anna Sung is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the University of Chester's Faculty of Science, Business and Enterprise, where she also serves as assessment officer and partner link tutor. She joined the university in January 2019 and holds a DBA from Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, MBA from Edinburgh Napier University, BSc from University of Hong Kong, and Grad Diploma from University of New England. Sung is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
Her research spans artificial intelligence (particularly Large Language Models), financial technology, educational technology, microlearning, multimedia learning, and behavioral data analytics. She ranks among the top scholars in microlearning research globally and has pioneered quantum computing applications in business research. Sung co-developed the MSc Fintech and Business Analytics program at Chester, featuring real-world financial data applications using Alpha Vantage API.
With international experience in Hong Kong and UK universities, Sung has served as academic link for partners in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei and Sri Lanka. Her extensive publication record shows consistent focus on AI applications across finance, education, and hospitality sectors. As Trustee and Chapter Member at Chester Cathedral, she connects academic work with community engagement.
