Anna Reczyńska is a Full Professor at the Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora, Faculty of International and Political Studies, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. She is a distinguished historian specializing in Polish-Canadian relations, the Polish diaspora in Canada, immigration history, and multiculturalism. Her academic leadership includes being the Chair in Canadian Studies and a founding member of the Polish Association of Canadian Studies.
Her research interests include: the history of Canada, Polish emigration, ethnic relations in Canada, Canadian immigration policy, the history of the Polish diaspora, the impact of martial law in Poland on diaspora communities, and oral history. She has conducted extensive archival and field research, supported by grants from the Kosciuszko Foundation, the John F. Kennedy Institute, the University of Ottawa, and the Polish Senate, among others.
Her scholarly output reveals a consistent focus on Polish migration to Canada, identity formation in diaspora, and the role of institutions like the Catholic Church and the Canadian Polish Congress.
