About
Anna Nazo is a performance artist, researcher, and educator at the Royal College of Art (RCA) since 2018, teaching across the School of Arts & Humanities, School of Communication, and School of Design. Her practice engages computing technologies, AI in contemporary philosophy-poetics and art practice-led science, with professional experience spanning over 14 countries in the past eight years.
Her teaching career includes positions at Haute Ecole d'art et de design de Genève (2023), University of Cambridge (2021-22), Central Saint Martins (2021), New York University (2019), and School of Visual Arts (2019). She has exhibited and performed at globally leading cultural institutions including Ars Electronica Festival, Dubai Design Week, WRO Biennale, and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Anna's research focuses on AI-neurotech narrative ecologies informed by non-Western onto-epistemologies, quantum storytelling, drone sensuous intelligence, emerging forms of techno-spirituality, and queer rave culture as forms of resistance. Her practical work includes live phygital audiovisual performances that combine aviation technology via drones (swarm intelligence), neurotechnology (EEG headsets), spoken word AI poetry, and compound CGI. This work investigates intelligence diversity, distributed forms of sensuousness, digital queer ecologies, and technology ethics, exploring intelligence and liveness in relation to nonconscious cognition, quantum reality, and sympoietic complexities.
Her SWERVE project (2021-present) represents a significant contribution to ethical-aesthetic narrative ecologies in collaboration with Indigenous communities, enabling critical cross-cultural knowledge production through innovative storytelling in more-than-human worlds. Initiated as a finalist for the Terra Carta Design Lab (conceived by King Charles III and Sir Jony Ive), this work demonstrates the intersection of art, technology, and environmental responsibility.
