Anna Lucille Boozer is Professor of Anthropology at CUNY Graduate Center and Professor of Roman Mediterranean Archaeology at Baruch College. Her research examines houses, households, and imperialism in Roman Egypt and Meroitic Sudan, with publications on social archaeology and material culture. She directs archaeological projects at Amheida (Egypt) and Meroë (Sudan).
Boozer's authored books include At Home in Roman Egypt: A Social Archaeology (2021) and A Late Romano-Egyptian House in the Dakhla Oasis (2015), and she co-edited Archaeologies of Empire: Local Participants and Imperial Trajectories (2020). Her current book project, Daily Life in Roman Egypt, incorporates illustrations by Egyptian archaeologist Fatma Alzahraa Omr.
