Anna Stevens is a Lecturer in Archaeology & Ancient History at Monash University and Director of the Amarna Project at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on ancient Egypt, particularly urbanism, material culture, and non-elite life in Amarna during the reign of Akhenaten. She directs excavations at Akhetaten (Amarna), exploring topics such as health, burial practices, and urban heritage preservation. Stevens co-edits the Ancient Egypt in Context book series (Cambridge University Press), integrating Egyptology with broader social sciences.
Education: PhD in Egyptian Archaeology, Monash University.
