Anna Kemdal Pho

Anna Kemdal Pho is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Education, Högskolan i Kristianstad. She holds a Filosofie Doktor (PhD) in Psychology. Her research focuses on attitudes toward controversial issues (e.g., animal experimentation, immigration, peace negotiations), decision-making processes, democratic deliberation, and youth participation. She collaborates with researchers across disciplines, including developmental psychologists and political scientists.

Her key research areas include analyzing how individuals explain their own vs. opponents' attitudes, with a focus on external vs. internal attributions. Recent work involves studying Incel forum chats from a social cognitive perspective, in collaboration with international teams. She also explores topics like self-esteem in youth and barriers to political party membership among young people.

She has supervised 15 academic works and is part of the Individual Group Society (FIGS) research environment. Key collaborations include projects with Eva Hoff (developmental psychology) and Malena Rosén Sundström (political science).
