Anna Hełka

Anna Hełka, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at SWPS University in Katowice, Poland, affiliated with the Faculty of Psychology, Department of General, Social and Organizational Psychology, Institute of Psychology, and Center for Research in Economic Behavior. She serves as the Dean's Representative for the Quality of Education at the Faculty of Psychology in Katowice.

Her research focuses on the impact of situational and personality factors on economic behavior and human resource management. For over a decade, she has been involved in HR management areas including intra-organizational communication, recruitment, onboarding, motivation, training, and employee assessment and development. She also conducts research on violent behavior in peer groups of children and adolescents.

Her published work examines how economic status influences pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors, revealing that individuals from middle and low economic backgrounds tend to have more environmentally friendly attitudes than those from affluent backgrounds, though the wealthy are willing to spend more on eco-friendly products.

At SWPS University, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in economic psychology, decision psychology, conflict resolution, business communication, methodology of psychosocial research, group processes, and the psychology of debt. She also conducts professional training sessions on recruitment, candidate selection, onboarding, and employee assessment tools.

She has led research projects including one funded by Poland's State Committee for Scientific Research (KBN) on situational factors in economic decision making, and she is a co-investigator in an EU-funded project on shaping educational and career attitudes of disadvantaged youth.
