Anna Borgarello is a Lecturer in Discipline at Columbia University's Department of Italian and a Core Lecturer in Literature Humanities. She earned her PhD in Italian and Comparative Literature from Columbia University in 2024.
Her research focuses on 20th- and 21st-century Italian, French, and English literatures through a transnational lens, emphasizing life writing, self/other relationships, and relationality. Her current book project, derived from her PhD thesis "Bifocal Narratives: The Self and the Other in Contemporary Italian, French, British, and North American Literature," examines contemporary works that blur auto/biographical boundaries by centering narratives around the interplay between autobiographical narrators and biographical others.
Her academic writing has been published or is forthcoming in Italianistica, Allegoria, Contemporary Literature, and The Italianist.
