Cosetta Seno

Cosetta Seno is an Associate Professor in the Department of French & Italian at the University of Colorado Boulder, specializing in 19th to 21st-century Italian literature and culture, women's studies, and gender theory. She earned her Laurea in Italy, an M.A. from the University of Virginia, and a Ph.D. in Italian Studies from UC Berkeley.

• Research Focus: Intersects feminist theory with historical analysis, particularly post-Risorgimento and postwar Italy.
• Publications: Co-authored Gli italiani e l'italiano nel nord America (2010), and wrote Anna Maria Ortese: Un avventuroso realismo (2013), examining fantasy as a tool for historical critique.
• Awards: Recipient of the Departmental Teaching Award (2019).
• Leadership: Former president of the AAIS Women’s Studies Caucus.

Her forthcoming work includes a special issue of Il lettore di provincia on post-unification women's education and a study on Mediterranean narrative reportage focused on Naples. Her articles explore topics like youth literature, autobiographical fantasy, and intersections of art and literature.
