Dr. Ann Strahle is Interim Associate Dean for the College of Public Affairs and Education and Associate Professor in the School of Communication and Media at the University of Illinois Springfield. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Journalism from Indiana University and a doctorate from the University of Illinois.
Her research examines the role of religion in media, national iconography, and how religious messages justify institutional actions. Additional interests include historical and legal frameworks of free expression. Her award-winning work analyzes religious symbolism in military communications.
