Marc LeBlanc

Marc LeBlanc is the Associate Director for Academic Affairs and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Egyptology at New York University's Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW). He oversees ISAW's PhD program, visiting scholar programs, and academic events, including admissions, faculty searches, and curricular affairs. His administrative leadership role includes membership in ISAW's Cabinet. He founded ISAW's Expanding the Ancient World initiative, which supports K-12 teacher training and community college outreach programs.

LeBlanc holds a B.A. in Egyptology and Classics from Brown University, and M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Egyptology from Yale University. His doctoral work focused on the Sed Festival's prehistory and royal iconography in Predynastic Egypt, contributing new translations of ritual texts. He teaches ancient Egyptian language courses at NYU.

His research explores Egyptian ritual practices, royal ideology, and the intersection of religion and power. Recent publications include analyses of Ptolemaic-era religious artifacts and the symbolic role of zoomorphic transformations in early Egyptian military rituals. He actively coordinates language instruction and academic programming at ISAW.
