Ann Shoemaker

Ann Shoemaker is an Associate Professor of Bassoon and Coordinator of Woodwinds at Baylor University. She previously taught at Furman University, Davidson College, and the North Carolina School of the Arts, and is recognized as a leading bassoonist and educator. Her performance career spans international solo and orchestral engagements.

Research & Performance Focus: Music performance, bassoon pedagogy, orchestral studies, and chamber music. She is affiliated with Fox Bassoon as a performing artist.

• Recipient of the Hayes Fellowship
• Recipient of the Nyfenger Award for Outstanding Woodwind Performance

Performance Roles: Principal bassoonist with Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and Waco Symphony Orchestra. Has performed in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, and Venezuela.
