Anjali Pathmanathan

Anjali Pathmanathan is a Visiting Lecturer in Law, Criminal Legal Clinic Fellow, and Associate Research Scholar in Law at Yale Law School. She teaches courses including the Criminal Justice Clinic and Challenging Mass Incarceration Clinic. Previously, she served as an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing at St. John's University School of Law and an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Law at Brooklyn Law School.

Education: J.D., Boston College Law School (2013); B.A., New York University (2009).

Her research focuses on due process and the criminal legal system, with publications in International Criminal Law Review, The Harbinger of The N.Y.U. Review of Law & Social Change, and New York Law Journal. Prior to academia, she worked as Senior Appellate Counsel at the Center for Appellate Litigation, representing incarcerated individuals in appeals, and as a Staff Attorney at the Legal Aid Society of New York. She also contributed to the Vera Institute of Justice’s Center on Immigration & Justice.
