Anish Hebbar

Anish Hebbar is Associate Professor at World Maritime University with 28 years of experience in the Indian Coast Guard. His research focuses on maritime safety, oil spill governance, accident investigation, and flag state performance metrics.

Expertise includes implementation of IMO conventions, development of India's National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan, and restructuring maritime security frameworks. Recent publications examine autonomous shipping safety, pandemic impacts on seafarers, and decarbonization risks.

Operational experience includes search and rescue missions, medical evacuations, piracy response, and fisheries enforcement. Awards include the Tatrakshak Medal from the Government of India.
