Johan Bolmsten

Dr. Johan Bolmsten is Assistant Professor and Information Manager at the World Maritime University, specializing in technology-enhanced maritime education. With a Ph.D. from the IT-University of Copenhagen and an M.Sc. from Blekinge Institute of Technology, he researches participatory design of learning systems and organizational knowledge processes.

Key initiatives include developing WMU's e-learning lab, coordinating international MET projects with IAMU/IMLA, and creating blended learning frameworks for maritime programs. Research examines cybersecurity education models, sustainable technology integration, and agile social learning methodologies.

Recent publications analyze industrial software engineering pedagogy (2024) and cybersecurity training frameworks (2021). He manages WMU's learning management systems and digital infrastructure for global maritime education delivery.
