Anil Kalhan is a Professor of Law at Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law, with courtesy appointments at the Center for Science, Technology and Society. He is also a Distinguished Fellow at Georgetown Law's Center on Privacy and Technology and an Affiliated Fellow at Yale Law School's Information Society Project.
His research examines:
- Surveillance technologies in immigration control
- Expansion of immigration detention systems
- Judicial independence in the US, Pakistan, and India
- Legal regimes spanning authoritarian and democratic periods
- Academic freedom protections
Recent scholarship focuses on crisis communication strategies, misinformation management, and organizational-public relationships during societal challenges. Publication trends emphasize empirical analysis of communication effectiveness during crises and the role of narrative strategies in reputation management.
