Professor Angus Laing is the Executive Dean of Edinburgh Business School and the School of Social Sciences at Heriot-Watt University. He holds a PhD from the University of Aberdeen and a bachelor's degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. With extensive leadership experience, he previously served as Dean of Lancaster University Management School, Loughborough University's School of Business and Economics, and Head of the University of Glasgow Business School. His research focuses on professional services, healthcare service delivery, and the impact of technology on service consumption.
Laing’s work explores themes such as patient engagement in healthcare, digital service adoption, and strategic management of professional service firms. He chairs the Academic Journal Guide Board of the Chartered Association of Business Schools and advises international business schools. His contributions include co-founding Nurture HE to advance higher education innovation.
His publications address healthcare service dynamics, value co-creation in health interactions, and the intersection of technology with patient behavior.
