Angie Blumberg

Angie Blumberg is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Auburn University. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Saint Louis University (2017) and an M.A. in Victorian Studies from the University of Leicester, UK. Her academic career includes a Visiting Fellowship at the DePaul Humanities Center (2018) and a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship at Auburn (2018-2021), where she received the Postdoctoral Teaching Award.

• Research Focus: Intersections of archaeology, literature, and cultural history in 19th-20th century British/Irish contexts.
• Key Themes: Gender and sexuality, decadence, aesthetic form, material culture, and World War I discourses.

Her recent publications examine how archaeological practices shaped literary modernism, decadent aesthetics, and feminist reinterpretations of colonial-era narratives. She has contributed to journals like Victoriographies and Tulsa Studies in Women’s Literature, as well as edited collections addressing global decadence and #MeToo intersections with modernism.

Blumberg’s work bridges literary analysis with material culture studies, emphasizing how physical artifacts and archaeological discourse influence canonical texts. She currently holds office hours on Wednesdays (12:30–3:30 PM) and teaches courses in Victorian and modernist literature.
