Angelique Gammon is an Associate Professor of the Practice in the Department of Communication at Texas A&M University, serving full-time since January 2018. Previously, she taught as an adjunct faculty member from 2013 to 2017. Her career includes founding Brazos Valley Insite Magazine (1984) and Insite Printing & Publishing, which she sold to focus on academia. She graduated from Texas A&M with a B.S. in Journalism in 1982, initially joining The Battalion student newspaper as a reporter before becoming editor after a basketball injury ended her athletic career.
Her research interests focus on Journalism & Media Practices, emphasizing real-world skill development through hands-on classroom experiences. Courses taught include American Mass Media, Media Writing, Sports Reporting, and Magazine Feature Writing. Students engage in fieldwork, publishing articles in local, state, and national outlets.
