About
Angela Favaro serves as Full Professor of Psychiatry (MED/25) at the University of Padua School of Medicine, where she concurrently holds three major clinical leadership positions: Chief of the Psychiatric Clinic, Chief of the Eating Disorders Unit at Padova Hospital, and Director of the Psychiatry Residency Program.
Her research program focuses intensely on eating disorders, examining their psychopathology, epidemiology, and evidence-based therapies. She investigates genetic and neurodevelopmental risk factors through the BIOVEDA DNA biobank collaboration with Clinical Genetics, while advancing neurocognitive studies of executive functioning and structural/functional neuroimaging across psychiatric conditions. Her work bridges neuroconnectomics and clinical applications of non-invasive brain stimulation.
As leader of the Eating Disorders Padova Research Group, she directs a multidisciplinary team utilizing multimodal neuroimaging facilities (including MRI/PET scanners and high-density EEG) to explore the neurobiological underpinnings of psychiatric disorders, with BIOVEDA serving as a critical resource for genetic research in eating disorders.
