Angela Byars-Winston is Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor in the Department of Medicine at University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she directs the Institute for Diversity Science and serves as Associate Director of the Collaborative Center for Health Equity. She holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Arizona State University.
Her NIH-funded research examines cultural influences on STEM career development, focusing on culturally aware mentorship interventions to broaden participation of underrepresented groups. Recent publications analyze virtual mentorship training efficacy and systemic approaches to equity in scientific training.
