Angela Bonar

Angela Bonar is a Lecturer in Nursing and Post Graduate Programme lead at the School of Health and Life Sciences. She has extensive experience in Further Education, including roles as Curriculum Leader, focusing on developing health, social care, and education courses from Access to HND levels. Her responsibilities include securing clinical placements in hospitals, community settings, and the Scottish Ambulance Service. She serves as Deputy Chair of the University Senate Appeals Committee since July 2019.

• Education Background: External Examiner at the University of Dundee (2007–2011).

Her research interests include academic literacy support, MSc research supervision, student transition challenges, public health, and healthcare quality improvement. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.

Awards: Scottish Funding Council Award (2002) recognizing her work in secondment and educational initiatives.

Advising & Grants: Supervises MSc research studies and has peer-reviewed manuscripts for Nurse Education Today (2012–2017). Engaged in activities like 'Lost In transition- Adolescent to Adult services' workshop (2011) and dissertation examinations (2008–2017).
