Andrew Scahill

Andrew Scahill serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Colorado Denver, specializing in film studies with focused expertise in genre theory, audience reception, and representations of youth rebellion in cinema.

His research spans Horror, Queer Theory, Gender Studies, and Censorship, examining intersections of youth culture and cinematic representation. Dr. Scahill has served as Coordinating Editor for Velvet Light Trap and Assistant Editor for Literature/Film Quarterly, with publications appearing in Cinema Journal, FLOW, Jump Cut, and Postscript. He authored The Revolting Child in Horror Cinema: Youth Rebellion and Queer Spectatorship (2015) and is currently developing a monograph on queer youth in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994).
