Andrew Moor

Dr. Andrew Moor is a Reader in Cinema History at Manchester Metropolitan University's Department of English. His research explores British cinema history, LGBTQ film studies, and queer theory, with expertise on Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. Moor teaches courses on LGBTQ Screens and Cultures and film history, and hosts film events at cultural venues.

His publications examine queer representation in cinema, national identity in British film, and reception studies. Current research investigates 'New Gay Sincerity' in contemporary filmmakers and the relationship between genre and sexuality in post-Stonewall cinema.
