Andrew Hall is a Senior Tutor in the Graphic Communication Design department at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. He serves as Platform Leader for Narrative and Voice within the BA Graphic Communication Design program and leads admissions, study abroad, and client-led briefs.

His research focuses on socio-political histories of illustration from an inclusive, international perspective, examining contemporary and future-facing practices in commercial and non-commercial illustration. He has explored the transition from analogue to digital illustrative methods, and their hybrid applications, with a particular emphasis on coded robotic drawing and global illustration trends in Tokyo and New York.
Andrew has contributed to academic literature by authoring the book 'Illustration' (Laurence King Publishing) and chapters for 'Picture This – Artist as Illustrator' and 'A Companion Guide to Illustration – Contemporary & Post-Contemporary Practice.'
He has held academic roles since 1990, including founding the CSM Graphic Design Portfolio Course and Summer School in 1994, and serving as Illustration Route Leader (now Platform Leader for Narrative & Voice) from 1998 onwards.
