Andrew Frampton is a Stipendiary Lecturer in Music at St Catherine's College, University of Oxford, and previously taught at Magdalen College. His research focuses on Central European music of the 18th century, particularly Johann Sebastian Bach and Jan Dismas Zelenka, with expertise in manuscript studies and musical networks. He holds a DPhil from Merton College, Oxford, and degrees from the University of Melbourne.
Research interests include source-based methodological approaches to creative processes, music bibliography, material culture, and British/Australian music (1850-1950).
Teaches undergraduate courses on music history (15th-19th centuries), analysis, and musical thought.
