Andreia Carrillo

Andreia Carrillo is an Assistant Professor in Physics and Astronomy at Carleton College since 2024. She specializes in Galactic archaeology, studying the Milky Way's formation through chemo-dynamical analysis of stars using Gaia data and simulations. Her research focuses on the stellar halo and accreted material, aiming to trace the Galaxy's assembly history.

Education: BS from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, PhD from The University of Texas at Austin.

Teaching: Courses include ASTR 110 (Introduction to Astronomy), ASTR 233 (Astrophysics II), and PHYS 144/233/346. She emphasizes hands-on research through ASTR 394 (Directed Research in Astronomy).
