Andreas Hackethal

Andreas Hackethal is a Professor at Goethe University Frankfurt's Faculty of Economics and Business Administration since 2008, serving as Dean (2011-2015) and Dean of Programs (2015-2020). He concurrently serves as Senior Researcher and Coordinator of the Pension Finance Lab at the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE.

His empirical research centers on individual financial decision-making processes, the efficacy of financial advisory services, and pension finance systems within household finance. He investigates behavioral patterns in retirement planning and the impact of regulatory frameworks on individual investment choices.

Scientific awards:

• Chair of the advisory council to German Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin)

He co-founded Techquartier.com and directs Goethe University's startup center, bridging academic research with fintech innovation.
