Elke König is a Senior Fellow at the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE (since 2022), located at Goethe University Frankfurt. Previously, she served as Chair of the Single Resolution Board (SRB) from 2015 to 2022, overseeing the resolution of failing banks in the Eurozone. From 2012 to 2014, she was President of Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). She also held roles as a member of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in London (2010–2011) and the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM).
