Prof. Dr. Andreas Fery serves as Head of the Department of Functional Colloidal Materials at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden, where he leads research in advanced material systems with applications in biotechnology and sensor development.
His research focuses on developing novel material concepts based on particulate building blocks, with core competencies in the synthesis of functional particles (plasmonic, dielectric, and hybrid particles), template-assisted self-assembly of colloidal particles, biopolymers and polyelectrolytes, and optical/electronic metamaterials. His experimental work employs various optical spectroscopy techniques including UV-Vis/NIR, dark field spectroscopy, time-resolved spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and ATR-FTIR spectroscopy.
