Andrea Procko

Andrea Procko, PhD, MS, CGC is a board-certified genetic counselor and adjunct professor affiliated with UC San Diego Health and Augustana University. She serves as a prenatal genetic counselor specializing in risk assessment, genetic testing navigation, and counseling for high/low-risk pregnancies. Dr. Procko is part of the Maternal-Fetal Care and Genetics team providing ultrasound and diagnostic testing services, and contributes to the Family Cancer Genetics Program.

Education:

• PhD in Molecular Genetics - The Rockefeller University
• MS in Genetic Counseling - UC Irvine School of Medicine

Teaching Roles:

• Instructs graduate students in prenatal genetics and case management at Augustana-Sanford Genetic Counseling Program
• Supervises clinical rotations and mentors thesis projects

Clinical Expertise: Focuses on prenatal and preconception counseling, hereditary cancer syndromes, and community resource integration. Active member of National Society of Genetic Counselors.

Professional Background: Previously worked at Human Longevity Inc. and held adjunct roles at University of San Diego. Joined UC San Diego Health in April 2017.
