Andrea Jones is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chester, affiliated with the School of Nursing and Midwifery within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She joined the university in 2021 after a career in the National Health Service (NHS), where she served as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Surgery. Her nursing career began in 2000, with roles progressing through critical care, acute care, and outreach nursing.
Teaching responsibilities include leading modules on the Foundation Program, Practice Simulation, and Person-Centered Care for pre-registration nursing students. She also serves as Deputy Programme Leader for Adult Bachelor of Nursing students. Her research focuses on critical care, patient deterioration, and nursing education innovations, including neurodiverse student support. Recent activities include a literature review on simulated placements and collaboration in the Research Pedagogy Group.
