Andrea Garcia

Andrea Garcia is a Doctoral Capstone Coordinator and Specialist Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Monmouth University. She earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas, a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University, and a Bachelors in Occupational Therapy from Elizabethtown College. Her academic roles combine clinical expertise in outpatient upper extremity rehabilitation with a focus on holistic and integrative health approaches.

Her research centers on holistic and integrative health methodologies, evidence-based teaching, and student resilience. Andrea received the 2018 New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association 'mOTivator' Award, was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society in 2017, and earned the Kitty Reed Occupational Therapy Scholarship in 2015. She teaches courses such as Doctoral Capstone Experience, Mindful Practice and Wellness Labs, and Occupation and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation.
