Dr. Andrea Ballatore is a Senior Lecturer in Cultural Data Science at King’s College London, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts & Humanities and the Department of Digital Humanities. He directs the Cultural Geo-Analytics Lab, focusing on geographic data science and GIS to study cultural institutions, creative industries, and urban dynamics. His work integrates spatial analysis with digital humanities, examining how cultural phenomena are geographically distributed and experienced.
Education: PhD in Computer Science (2013) from University College Dublin, postdoctoral research at UC Santa Barbara’s Center for Spatial Studies.
Research Interests: Cultural Geo-Analytics (GIS for cultural production/consumption), Digital Geographies (social media and digital platforms’ impact on place perception), Spatial Digital Humanities (GIS-based visualization for historical and cultural studies). He has secured over £1.2M in funding from AHRC, Ordnance Survey, and Facebook Research.

Teaching: Geographic Information Systems, cartography, data visualization, and critical approaches to technology in the humanities.
