Beata Konopska

Dr. hab. Beata Konopska is a full professor at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University's Department of Geomatics and Cartography within the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management. She holds dual PhDs in Earth Sciences (Cartography) from the University of Warsaw and Humanities (History) from the University of Wrocław.

• Specializes in critical cartography, analyzing power structures' influence on map production
• Focuses on historical geography and cartographic sources for geographical environment studies
• Key research areas: map censorship (1944–1989), spatial turn in historical research

Notable Scientific Contributions: Lead major projects like "Shaping Poland's borders after WWI" (1.2M PLN grant) and "Cold War City Map Cartometry" (NCN PRELUDIUM 21).
