Andre Tofteland

Andre Tofteland is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Agder's Department of Economics, School of Economics. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Agder and an HAE degree from the Norwegian School of Economics. Previously, he served as Faculty Director at the School of Business and Law (now School of Economics), Head of the Department of Economics and Finance, and contributed to committees like the Norwegian Accounting Standards Board (NASB) and the Association for Good Municipal Accounting Standards (GKRS).

Research Interests: Focuses on financial accounting theory, particularly the application in developing accounting standards for both private and public sectors. Key areas include IFRS implementation, municipal accounting practices, and pedagogical approaches to accounting education.

Publications: Authored/co-authored multiple textbooks and exercise collections on financial accounting, including Financial Accounting - Assessment and Analysis (2011) and Good Accounting Practices and IFRS (2011). His work emphasizes practical application of theory in standard development and education.

Teaching: Responsible for courses such as 'Financial Accounting Theory' (Bachelor), 'Financial Accounting 1-3' (Bachelor), and 'Municipal Accounting Reporting' (Bachelor).
