Anat Stemmer-Rachamimov, MD is an Associate Pathologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Professor in Pathology at Harvard Medical School. She serves as co-principal investigator of the Molecular Neuro-Oncology Laboratory alongside Dr. David Louis in Charlestown.
Dr. Stemmer-Rachamimov is board certified in Neuropathology and Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Her clinical expertise spans Autopsy Pathology, Frozen Section Pathology, Molecular Pathology, Neuropathology, and Ophthalmic Pathology. She also serves as a member of the ophthalmologic pathology service at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, providing instruction to neuropathology trainees.
Her research focuses on identifying molecular changes in lesions associated with hereditary brain tumor syndromes (neurofibromatosis 1, neurofibromatosis 2, schwannomatosis, and tuberous sclerosis), and discovering activated pathways that lead to tumor progression. Her lab has transitioned from basic molecular characterization to translational research involving biomarkers and drug screening.
Dr. Stemmer-Rachamimov participates in interdisciplinary conferences including Adult Tumor Board and Pediatric Tumor Board, contributing neuropathology expertise to patient care discussions. She is fluent in French, Hebrew, and Italian, enhancing her ability to serve diverse patient populations and collaborate internationally.
