Anastasios DOSIS is an Associate Professor of Economics at ESSEC Business School (France) since 2021, with a focus on game theory and its applications to industrial organization, financial economics, and mechanism design. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Warwick (2014) and has held academic positions at THEMA Research Center (France) since 2013, alongside prior roles as a Teaching Fellow and Visiting Fellow at the University of Warwick. His research explores competitive markets with asymmetric information, regulatory design, and the intersection of privacy/data ownership with economic mechanisms.
Education: Ph.D. in Economics (University of Warwick, 2014); MPhil in Economics (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, 2008); MSc in Applied Mathematics for Business and Finance (Athens University of Economics and Business, 2006); BSc in Management Science and Technology (Athens University of Economics and Business, 2005).
Research Interests: His work centers on applying game-theoretic frameworks to analyze adverse selection, moral hazard, and strategic behavior in financial markets, insurance, and innovation ecosystems. Key themes include optimal risk adjustment in health insurance, the welfare impacts of privacy regulations, and the effects of low interest rates on capital allocation.
Recent articles (2022–2025) focus on topics like capital misallocation under low interest rates, data ownership in digital markets, and privacy-tradeoff mechanisms. His 2023 paper in Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization on data ownership has been widely cited in policy discussions. Earlier work on equilibrium definitions in adverse selection markets (2016) contributed foundational theoretical insights.
Distinctions: Recipient of the Warwick Economics Postgraduate Research Fellowship (2009). Served as a consultant for the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) on EU competition policy for financial markets (2015). Active as a journal reviewer for Economic Theory, Economics Letters, and Theoretical Economics.
Professional Activities: Advised on projects related to EU competition law and CRA industry practices. Engaged in interdisciplinary research collaborations, including work on R&D competition and dynamic experimentation with economist Amartya Muthoo.
