Ana Beato

Ana Beato is an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Lisbon, with concurrent appointments as Assistant Professor at the University of Lusófona's School of Psychology and Life Sciences. She holds significant leadership positions including Vice-President of the School Board and Coordinator of the Clinical and Health Psychology Group at Proadapt, CICPSI. Additionally, she coordinates the Master's program in Sexology at Lusófona University and conducts research at HEI-Lab – Digital Human-Environment Interaction Lab.

Her academic credentials include a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Lisbon focused on parenting in anxiety disorders, a Master's in Stress and Well-being from the same institution, and an undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology (cognitive-behavioural approach) from the University of Coimbra.

Her research spans multiple domains of clinical psychology with particular emphasis on:

• Anxiety disorders across developmental stages
• Parent-child dynamics and parenting strategies
• Sexuality and neurodevelopmental processes
• Third-wave CBT interventions
• Technology-enhanced psychological applications

She leads the WeARTolerance project funded by La Caixa Foundation, utilizing arts-based interventions to reduce mental-health stigma in youth. Her scholarly output demonstrates consistent focus on familial mental health, anxiety mechanisms, and adaptive coping strategies, with recent work examining pandemic-related psychological impacts.

Beato maintains clinical practice at the Developmental Center Partners in Neuroscience (PIN) and serves as Associate Editor for Child Psychiatry and Human Development. Her teaching portfolio includes Cognitive Behavioural Interventions for Children/Adolescents and Practicum Seminars.
