An-Ping LIN

Dr. An-Ping LIN is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Lee Kong Chian Fellow at Singapore Management University's School of Accountancy (SOA). He joined SMU in 2015 after earning his PhD in Accounting from Arizona State University. He holds a CPA license in Colorado, USA, and has taught financial and managerial accounting at both Arizona State University and SMU. His research focuses on credit ratings, earnings management, financial analysts, and voluntary disclosure, with notable contributions to understanding analyst performance dynamics and corporate information environments.

Dr. LIN's educational background includes a PhD in Accounting (Arizona State University), an MS in Banking (National Chengchi University, Taiwan), and a BBA in Accounting (National Taiwan University, Taiwan). His work has been recognized with awards such as the Dean’s List of Teaching Excellence (2017–2023) and the MSc in Management Best Instructor Award (2023).

His research explores cross-industry knowledge sharing, audit quality, and the impact of social skills on analyst performance. Recent studies include examining green innovation's dual financial and environmental impacts and analyzing CFO gaps in corporate information environments. His findings frequently bridge accounting practices with broader economic and social factors.

Dr. LIN actively contributes to academic discourse through reviewing roles at top journals like the European Accounting Review and AAA FARS. His teaching excellence spans introductory courses to specialized topics, reflecting his dual commitment to education and research.
