Amy Wheeler

Amy Wheeler is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona. She holds certifications including AuD, CCC-A, and F-AAA. Her role focuses on clinical education, coordinating externships for fourth-year AuD students, and supervising graduate student placements. Dr. Wheeler also serves as Coordinator of the Southern Arizona Hearing Aid Bank and actively advocates for expanded hearing healthcare access through projects like the Hearing Healthcare Assistance Program.

Dr. Wheeler earned her doctorate from Utah State University and has 14 years of clinical experience in ENT settings, including five years supervising students. Her work emphasizes increasing accessibility to hearing services, particularly through Medicaid coverage advocacy and sustainability evaluations of community hearing aid programs.

As externship coordinator, she facilitates monthly grand rounds meetings and collaborates with clinical educators during student externships. Her professional licenses include Arizona state certification and ASHA's CCC-A credentials.
