Amy K.M. Winters

Amy K.M. Winters is Assistant Professor developing programmable materials for interaction design at TU/e's Industrial Design department. Her research creates responsive materials that embody temporal dynamics through material computation.

Innovations include:

• Hydration-driven chitosan actuators
• 3D-printed liquid crystal elastomer fibers
• Hydrogel morphing structures

Her Material Aesthetics Lab bridges chemistry and design to create interactive systems that express temporal form. Research has been exhibited at Dutch Design Week and IEEE RoboSoft conferences, emphasizing sustainable material innovation.
