Amy Hicks

Amy Hicks is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art & Design at the University of Delaware. She holds an M.F.A. in New Genres from Stanford University (2005) and a B.A. in Photography from the University of California (1990). Her work bridges digital media, conceptual video art, and pre-cinematic studies, exploring themes of transformation, scientific inquiry, and societal critique.

Key research interests include experimental film techniques, the intersection of science and art, and the visualization of abstract concepts. Her projects often involve collaborations, such as the IDOK Center for Research, which reimagines cultural icons through interdisciplinary methods. She has exhibited globally at venues like the San Francisco International Film Festival, the Musee d'Art Moderne et Contemporain (France), and the Exploratorium (San Francisco).
