Amy E. Blatt

Amy E. Blatt, M.D., serves as the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She holds dual faculty appointments as Professor in both the Department of Medicine (Hospital Medicine) and the Department of Pediatrics (General Pediatrics) with a joint appointment.

Her academic interests focus on enhancing medical education through learner assessment, addressing bias in clinical learning environments, and improving the transition from undergraduate to graduate medical education. Her research spans themes like bias reporting, narrative evaluation quality, and regulatory compliance in medical training.

She has received 14 prestigious awards, including the William L. Morgan Jr. Professorship in Medicine (2023), Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award (2022), and Gold Medal for Excellence in Teaching (2021). Dr. Blatt also contributes to clinical teaching and hospital-based research, particularly in drug-induced toxicity and adolescent health care transitions.
