Amy Bellamy is an Assistant Professor in the Harmony Department at Berklee College of Music, joining the faculty in 2016. She holds a Master’s of Music from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. A renowned keyboardist, Bellamy has extensive performance experience, including touring with the Sam Kininger Band (Soulive/Lettuce) and her husband Aaron Bellamy’s group The A-Beez. Their albums Never Going Back (2015) and Say Goodbye (2018) showcase their songwriting, arranging, and producing expertise. She has collaborated with artists such as Chaka Khan, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Parliament Funkadelic, and performed classical works in prestigious venues like Notre Dame Cathedral and St. Mark’s Basilica.
Bellamy’s teaching focuses on music theory fundamentals, harmony, and ear training. She leads a 16-year Tuesday night residency at Boston’s Wally’s Jazz Café and authors online courses for Berklee, including Music Theory Fundamentals. Her career bridges academic instruction with professional performance in jazz, funk, and gospel genres.
