Amina Adan

Dr. Amina Adan is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director for the MA Social Work at the University of East London (UEL), affiliated with the School of Childhood and Social Care. She also holds a Senior Lecturer and Doctoral Supervisor role at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. With over two decades of experience in social work practice and academia, her work integrates critical pedagogy, racial justice, and psychoanalytic frameworks. Qualifications include a DProf, MA, BSc, and PGDip.

Her research focuses on race, power, racialized emotional labor, and institutional dynamics, employing psycho-social and postcolonial methodologies. Key themes include gendered violence, organizational emotional life, and decolonial knowledge production.
